She's worked for several of the most prestigious media outlets worldwide. Her tenure working at The Washington Post was spent reporting on several Olympics, Grand Slam Tennis along with basketball, football and other sports. Nichols began a nine year stint at ESPN in which she won 2 Emmy Awards, and featured on a number of the network's best programs, including NFL Countdown and SportsCenter. She was also an integral part of ESPN's Monday Night Football broadcasts as an on-line reporter. After she left the ESPN network, her subsequent station was CNN as well as Turner Sports. Unguarded: Rachel Nichols hosted her own show on CNN International. The show was watched by more than one billion viewers throughout the globe. During this time Nichols was a reporter for TNT's NBA broadcasts which included regular season, playoffs, and the All-Star broadcast teams. The work she did with TBS included baseball and golf coverage as well as Final Four broadcasts by CBS. It is the only nomination for this award to a woman among more than 200 nominated contenders.
